What You Get and How It Works
The Concept and Motivation
What you get is a voucher good for the desired service. Important details:
Vouchers are non-refundable. Unless I am unable to provide the service due to difficulties on my end, all sales are final.
Vouchers are transferrable. You can give it to someone else (as a gift or otherwise) or sell it on at face value (no profiting, please). In either case, please email me at davidrmunson@gmail.com to let me know what's up.
Vouchers can be converted for other services. If you bought a portraiture voucher, for example, but want to do a photo workshop instead, we can probably do that. Email me at davidrmunson@gmail.com to discuss options.
Vouchers can be added to. That is, if you buy a standard portrait voucher, but later want to add on extended shoot time, retouching, etc, that's entirely doable for an additional fee.
The voucher is good for a period of up to two years from purchase date. If you cannot use it within that period, just get in touch. I can likely extend it, the two year validity window is just a way for me to ensure unused vouchers don't get overly old.
When you're ready to use your voucher, just get in touch and we can plan things out. You can do this at the time of purchase or any time after. The more advance notice you can give me, the better, but I do my best to stay loose and adapt to changes as necessary.
A while back, it occurred to me that the services I provide (portraits, photo walks and workshops, experimental Tokyo walking tours) all end up requiring a similar amount of my time, energy, and skill. As such, it was an opportunity to simplify some aspects of things for myself and for my customers.
My standard rate for all of these services is around ¥35,000, but am offering vouchers for the same services at a reduced rate for two main reasons. One, to increase accessibility for customers for whom price is more of a consideration. Two, to better secure cash flow on my end (freelancing involves a lot of uncertainty, and I'm willing to trade some amount of income for security).
